Creative Curriculum

Our Creative Curriculum is specifically designed to promote cognitive and emotional growth in conjunction with the physical and social growth of a child. In responding to the individual needs of children within these developmental lines, the center has instituted specific curriculum areas such as; the Block Area, Housekeeping/Dramatic Play Area, Manipulative Area, Arts and Crafts Area, and Concept and Social Learning Areas. Within each of these areas, individual learning takes place as the children work with an assortment of materials and interact with their peers in a relaxed social atmosphere.

Family Engagement

South County Day Care strongly believes in the importance of family in every child’s life. A family is a child’s first teacher and so we strive to build a culture of family engagement in all that we do. With the help of software like the Hi Mama App, we are able to easily communicate with families, share photos, achievements, updates and more throughout the school day. These tools empower families and our staff to bridge the gap between learning that happens at our Center and learning at home. By fostering this connection, we can enhance face-to-face communication, promote open conversation, and develop full and strong relationships with the families in our care.

In order to maintain that environment of trust and confidence among and between parents and staff, the Center periodically provides seminars and workshops to parents and staff. Parent workshops are conducted by community professionals, and are intended to help parents cope with life problems which may affect their child’s growth. Similar workshops are provided to the staff to maintain a high quality of awareness to the current social and economic environment.
