What We Are All About
Our Story
South County Day Care Center is a community based, not-for-profit agency, licensed by the state of NJ, that provides year-round care services for children ages 2 ½ to 5. Our center provides services for working parents and parents attending school who reside in Middlesex County. Breakfast and snacks are provided in accordance with the New Jersey State Child and Adult Food program. Fees are on a sliding scale and are based on family size and income set by New Jersey’s Division of Family Development.
About : Our Mission
As adults, we tend to take for granted the pattern of our social lives and our conceptions about people in the past, present, and future. Children must be taught these patterns of life. In their first few years, young children are preoccupied with their own needs, therefore there is little interest in understanding about other people. By the age of 2 ½ and 3, children define themselves by trying to clarify relationships, roles, and experiences of family and friends. Through social learning and interaction with their peers, they acquire skills and acknowledge the needs of others.
About : About Us
We know that children learn best when they’re actively engaged. We recognize that they are naturally curious. We believe that all children are talented, capable and special, whether they enjoy music or math, whether they want to be a businessperson or a ballet dancer. We know they learn critical science, math, reading and writing concepts through hands-on, sensory-oriented activities.
